A little about the theatre’s next act:
The 11,000 square foot Westwood Theatre, a historic art deco centerpiece of the Westwood Town Hall business district, was built in 1940 and seated 900 guests until its last movie in 1996. For 30 years the building has been vacant, used for storage, with gaping holes in the roof.
In fall 0f 2025, Westwood Works acquired the property and began planning for its transformation. After almost a one-million-dollar investment in predevelopment, acquisition, and stabilization – the theatre will be ready for its next act in fall of 2026: a $3M renovation that will transform it into the premiere cultural arts center for the west side of Cincinnati. Current plans call for modern, sleek space that will host fine and performing arts, cultural, youth programming and community events.
We need your help to make this dream a reality for the Westwood and West Side community!
